It's sad when you measure passing of the years by Salutes...
A serious lack of funds saw me pimping myself out to Wayland/Tabletop Nation for the entry badge. Walking straight in past the gigantic snaking queue made the three hours of selling X-Wing and Dreadball all worth while. After the afore mentioned time it was off to wander around the hall looking at goodies and seeking inspiration. I've not really liked Salute since it moved from Olympia and this year was no different. Sure it is bigger, easier to get to and technically a better venue (especially for the traders) but it lacks soul... It's more just a big market than a show, which is cool, apart from when one has no money I suppose.
So I spent the day wandering around seeking inspiration. Non found really. There was the samurai game done by WSS based on Muskets & Tomahawks which may well be worth picking up when it is in the mag... Hope they check that its ok to use M&T with Alex first though. Only other notable thing of the day was picking up the Season 2 Dreadball stuff from Mantic, although I'm happy using the Gungan and the Daleks to be honest.
SO all in all no inspiration found but next month should be different... First of all there will be the May the Fourth X-Wing comp at TTN followed seven days later by the Mantic Open day and comp. Hoping to get to see Deadzone in Action at the same time :)
