'I am your Father."
An iconic statement for any Star Wars geek. And one I found myself using as I coerced my eldest daughter Khally into trying out X-Wing. I'm sorry living at home when you are 25 surely involves part of the rent as being making your Dad happy by playing games. So off to the table we went.

After a quick Luke v two Tie intro game we were off with a bigger game. Darth and two Ties up against Luke and a rookie. Not equal points I know but near enough surely.
What struck me the most was how easy the rules were for Khally, who isn't really a gamer, to pick up. We didn't even bother with the vanilla version of the game - just went in at the deep end. Shows the quality of the game.

With lots of 'pew pew' noises, aided by the Star Wars fx app of course, one of my Ties went down quickly due to an uncanny daughter ability to roll three crits numerous times.
Then she turned her attention to Darth. He never had a chance with all the three hit dice rolling.

End of game a win for Khally, but a win for me as she liked it and wants to play again. Her comment at the end was that 'they have really made it feel like the ships move in the movie.'
Great praise indeed!
So the X-Wing saga marches on. Oh how I wish Mantic would take a leaf out of Fantasy Flights book and see how game support should work!
I saw the prizes for the Regionals at Tabletop Nation the other day. Awesome would be the word, not that I will be likely to get any. But nice to see all the same.
We are about to embark on a club campaign using the rules in a previous post.
Keep those scanners on...
